At For the Love of Pete Ragdolls, we believe that every cat in our care deserves not only a wonderful beginning, but an equally thoughtful and loving next chapter. Breeding beautiful, healthy Ragdoll kittens is only part of our mission — ensuring that our queens live full, contented lives after their time in our program is just as important.
That’s why we retire our breeding queens with great care and intention.
When a queen has completed her time as a mother, we assess her personality, needs, and natural rhythms to determine the perfect moment for her to transition into the next phase of life. Some queens make it very clear when they’re ready for retirement — they slow down, show more interest in lounging than mothering, or become a little more selective about their space. Others have gifted us multiple beautiful litters and simply deserve the joy of being doted on in a peaceful, pet-only home.

A Peaceful Next Chapter for Our Queens
This week, we had the joy of placing one of our most beloved queens alongside her young daughter — a rare and truly heartwarming opportunity. These two girls have always shared a special bond, and now they get to enjoy a lifetime together, side by side, in a forever home that treasures their companionship.
Retiring queens is not a goodbye — it’s a celebration. It’s an honoring of the role they’ve played in shaping the next generation of Ragdolls. And when we can keep mother and daughter together, it feels like the most perfect kind of legacy.
We remain committed to responsible breeding practices and to putting the long-term well-being of our cats above all else. Every queen has a story, and we’re proud to make sure each one ends with love, comfort, and continuity.
Stay tuned as we share more of these graceful transitions and the stories behind the incredible cats who make our program what it is. ❤️
